Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to award individuals and organisations who played a pivotal part in implementing the Mandatory Jute Packaging Act 2010, according to Jute and Textiles Minister Md Emaz Uddin Pramanik.
While speaking at a press briefing yesterday, he said the prime minister would hand over the awards at a ceremony on March 6, and also inaugurate a three-day jute fair.
The minister added that 38 individuals, who played a vital part in ensuring that the jute act was enforced consistently, would be given crests in 11 categories.
He also said over 135 products from the Jute Diversification Promotion Centre would be on display during the fair.
