With colourful decorations, traditional music and a glamorous guest list, a two-day Pond's-Naksha Biye Utshab began at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital yesterday.

The daily Prothom Alo's weekly supplement Naksha organised the festival.

Various makeover salons, sweet-sellers, florists, event management organisations and wedding photography houses are providing special offers at the venue.

For honeymoon couples, hotels and resorts are also offering special discounts.

Earlier, during the inaugural, singer Elita Karim and Ashfaque Nipun arrived at the venue riding on a horse and a palanquin just like brides and grooms traditionally do.

The Utshab will continue until 6:00pm today. Editor of the daily Prothom Alo Matiur Rahman and Media Manager of Unilever Bangladesh Tanveer Faruq were present at the inaugural ceremony among others.
