Noting that the implementation of land boundary agreement has consolidated the relations between Bangladesh and India, President Abdul Hamid yesterday hoped that all the unsettled issues between the two countries will be resolved soon.

Hamid voiced the hope when Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran made his farewell call on him at Bangabhaban.

President's press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.

Both the president and the envoy observed that road connectivity between the two countries has increased the bilateral trade and hoped it will expand further.

New Delhi has appointed Harsh Vardhan Shringla, currently ambassador of India to Thailand, as the next Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh, reports our diplomatic correspondent.

Later, Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Paulasthi Bulathsinghala made a courtesy call on the president.
