Road crashes kill 4
Four people were killed in road accidents in two districts during the last two days, according to reports from our correspondents.
In Patuakhali, two boys were killed as a battery-run auto-rickshaw and a bus collided on Barguna-Barishal highway in Kashipur area on Saturday.
The deceased -- Noman (13) and Abu Hamza (9) -- were travelling in the auto-rickshaw, said police.
The driver fled with the vehicle after the accident, said Bamna Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kamlesh Chandra Hawladar.
Meanwhile, Nadia Akhter, daughter of Rafiq Gazi from Hajikhali village in Sadar upazila, died as she was hit by a motorcycle in the area yesterday.
She was declared dead at Patuakhali General Hospital, said Patuakhali Police Station OC Akhter Morshed.
In Joypurhat, an elderly man was killed when two motorcycles collided on Joypurhat-Bogura road at Harail intersection in Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Wahed (60) from Hitchmi (Mondalpara) village in Sadar upazila.
Police said the deceased was returning home from the town on his motorcycle. He died on the way to a hospital.
