Shamsunnahar no more

Former member of parliament Begum Shamsunnahar passed away yesterday at a local hospital. At 95, she was suffering from old age ailments.

Known for her social work, Begum Shamsunnahar was the president of Esktaon Mohila Shomiti and was a former MP in the early 90's. She the second daughter of Khan Bahadur Mohammed Ismail of Faridpur.

She was buried at Uttara graveyard next to her husband Gazi Fazlur Rahman's grave. Her qulkhani will be held privately at her residence on Friday after Asr prayers.
