Trader shot, robbed in capital

Muggers snatched away Tk 80,000 from a trader after shooting him in the right leg in the capital's Bangshal yesterday.

The victim, Mohammad Yusuf, 38, a trader from Chandpur, came to Dhaka to buy machinery equipment for his workshop.

When he reached Suritola by a rickshaw, four muggers attacked and robbed him, said Sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman of Bangshal Police Station.

Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment, he said.

None was arrested in connection with the incident.
