Two siblings drown in Thakurgaon

Two siblings drowned in the Kulic River in Sondharai village of Thakurgaon before their father's eyes yesterday.

The deceased -- Md Nannu, 14, and Md Nahid, 10 -- went to the river with their father Khalilur Rahman for washing cattle, said locals.

While bathing, Nannu drowned as he accidentally went into a 30/40 feet hole created by a recent dredging for sand lifting.

When Nahid tried save his brother he also drowned. The father could not rescue his sons despite desperate attempt. The bodies were recovered after two hours.
