Woman dies, 2 get hurt falling off train roof in Gazipur

A woman died and two people, including her husband, were injured as they fell off the roof of Rangpur Express train after they were hit by a tree in Bhauman area of Kaliakoir in Gazipur yesterday.

The deceased was Majeda Begum, 35, of Naogaon.

Meanwhile in Rangpur, four people were injured as a commuter train hit a pick-up van on the rail track at Pakinahar rail crossing in Badarganj municipality area yesterday.

The injured -- Faridul Islam, 35, Rashedul Islam, 30, Maidul Islam, 38, and Jahid Hossain, 12, of Naogaon -- are undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Witnesses alleged that Hasan Ali, gateman of the crossing was absent when the accident occurred.
