Woman 'kills herself' in capital

A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the rooftop of a 5-storey building in the capital's Hazipara early yesterday.

The dead is Hena Akter Dolan, 27, wife of Jahid Hossain, a Bangladeshi expatriate in United Arab Emirates.

Officer-in-charge of Rampura Police Station Rafiqul Islam said Hena jumped off the rooftop of the building around 4:10am.

On information, police rushed to the spot and rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 6:25am.

However, the reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately, the OC added.
