4 Pabna JMB men sent to jail after remand

Four JMB men were sent to jail yesterday on expiry of their five day's remand.

They are Md Ziaur Rahman, 35, Md Shariful Islam Tulip, 22, Md Alim Pramanik, 36, and Amzad Hossain, 30.

Police produced them in the Cognizance Court-2 in the afternoon. The court sent them to jail, said Md Abu Jahid, assistant superintendent of police (ASP), Ishwardi circle.

Earlier, the same court granted five day's remand for the four JMB men detained in connection with the attack on Luke Sarkar, pastor of Faith Bible Church, on October, 5.

"During interrogation in remand they gave some important information about JMB activities. We are verifying the information," the ASP said, declining to reveal the information for the sake of investigation. "If needed, we will appeal to the court, seeking further remand," he added.

Luke Sarkar, 52, was attacked by three motorbike riders at his house in Schoolpara area of Ishwardi on October 5. He managed to escape with a few minor injuries.
