Abducted boy rescued in Kushtia

Police rescued a madrasa boy from Courtpara area in the town on Monday, a day after his abduction.

The victim is Abdur Rahman Shibli, 11, a Class II student of Abdul Aziz Madrasa in Jessore district, and son of Shariful Islam of Shangkarpur of the district.

Around 9:30am on Sunday, a gang abducted Shibli when he was going to the madrasa and demanded Tk 1.30 lakh ransom from the family over mobile.

The victim's father then filed a case with Jessore Kotwali Police Station in this connection, said Touhidul Islam, sub-inspector of the PS.   

After tracking mobile calls, the law enforcers raided Courtpara area around 8:30pm on Monday and rescued Shibli from in front of a tea stall.

However, the abductors managed to flee the scene, sensing the presence of the policemen, said the SI.
