Baby dies of 'wrong treatment'

A newborn died at a clinic in Jamalganj area of Joypurhat town on Sunday due to 'wrong treatment'. Dinesh Das, father of the deceased, said his wife Rima Rani Das was brought to Surjer Hasi Clinic with severe labour pain around 4:00pm. Moments after Rima was admitted to the clinic, Dinesh learnt that the hospital has no facilities for caesarean. Later, the clinic authority shifted the woman to labour ward and kept her waiting for normal delivery. Later, the child died soon after birth. All the officials and staff of the clinic fled the scene soon after the incident, said police.
