Four rescued from traffickers

Police rescued four youths while they were being trafficked to India through Chanchra check post in Jessore district town on Monday. They are Rubel Hossain, 26, of Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali district, Lalon Mia, 26, of Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria, Rubel Khan, 27, of Bauphal upazila in Patuakhali, and Shafiqul Islam, 26, of Jamalganj upazila in Sunamganj district. Akkas Ali, officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Police Station, said one Jahangir Miah and Mamun took the youths to the area to cross the border around 8:30pm. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the human traffickers managed to flee the scene. Later, police rescued the four from the area. A case was filed, said the OC.
