Infant's body exhumed in Jhenidah
The body of an infant boy was exhumed for autopsy on Wednesday, after 16 days of his burial at Sreepur village in Harinakundo upazila.
The deceased is 38-day-old Marfat Hossain, son of Masud Ali of the village.
Ershadul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Harinakundo Police Station, said on the night of September 29, Masud beat up his wife Juthi Begum mercilessy over a family feud, when Marfat was in her lap, leaving the kid dead and his mother unconscious.
They buried the kid hurriedly the same night to avoid 'police trouble'.
On October 1, Juthi filed a murder case with Jhenidah Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, accusing her father-in-law Omar Ali, husband Masud Ali and his three siblings--Roni Ahmed, Rana Ahmed and Rehana Akhtar.
Following a court order, Marfat's body was exhumed in presence of Harinakundo Upazila Nirbahi Officer Monira Parvin and taken to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
