Kid drowns in pond

A two and half-year-old boy drowned in a pond in Birampur upazila of the district yesterday. The deceased is Md Ariful Islam, son of Yousuf Ali of Sarangapur village.  Police said the boy fell into the pond near their house while playing on its bank and went missing. Locals later rescued Ariful after a hectic search. He was sent to the upazila health complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
