One gets life term for muder

A Gaibandha court sentenced one person to suffer life term and another to one year imprisonment on charge of murdering a farmer at Ghagoa village in Sundarganj upazila.

Amlan Kusum Jishnu, judge of additinal district session court, announced the verdict yesterday.

The prosecution case was that a clash took place on March 27, 2007, between the plaintiff Younus Ali and Mahfuzur over the sharing of landed properties. Abul Kashem, a supporter of Yunus Ali, was killed during the incident. Younus Ali filed a murder case with Sundarganj Police Station.

After interogation of the witnesses, the court found Mahfuzur guilty of murdering Abul Kashem and awarded him life term jail sentence and Tk 25 thousand fine, in default to suffer one more year of imprisonment. Mosadek, who took part in the clash, got one year imprisonment.
