Shibir man jailed for stalking

A mobile court here yesterday sentenced a Shibir man to one year's imprisonment for stalking a schoolgirl. The convict is Jewel Rana, 28, publication secretary of Bagatipara upazila unit of Shibir, and son of Abdul Kader of Gaopara village in the upazila. Bagatipara police said Rana used to stalk the girl on her way to school. On information, police arrested the Shibir leader at noon and produced him before the court, led by Executive Magistrate Khandaker Farhad Ahmed, which punished him.
