Stalkers assault girl, hack father

A man was hacked allegedly by stalkers of his daughter at Bamonkhan in Rajapur upazila of the district on Sunday night.

The attackers also assaulted the girl and cut her hair.

Injured Mobasher Sardar of the village was admitted to the upazila health complex. 

"A gang of 5/6 led by Akash, son of Masud of the area, swooped on our house around 9:00pm and tried to abduct my daughter," said Mobasher.

"When I tried to resist the gang, they hacked me. They also assaulted my daughter and other family members and cut her hair," he said at the hospital bed.

"Earlier, stalker Akash wanted to marry my daughter but I refused his proposal and recently, I married her off with another man. She even can't continue her study after SSC as Akash often stalked her."

Refuting the allegation, Akash said he went there with some elder brothers to collect honey from hives on a tree.

Punitive action will be taken against the culprits after getting written complaint in this regard, said Md Munirul Giash, officer-in-charge of Rajapur Police Station.
