Two traders murdered in Dinajpur, Joypurhat
Two traders were murdered in Dinajpur and Joypurhat on Friday.
One of them, a betel leaf trader, was burnt to death in Dinajpur, while the other, a medicine trader, was stabbed to death in Joypurhat, said police.
The deceased are Mokhlesur Rahman Dhola, 28, son of Dulu Mia, of Ramnagar area under Dinajpur Municipality, and Tariqul Islam, 28 son of Abdul Kuddus Ali Mondal of Khanjanpur village under Joypurhat Municipality.
According to family members, Mokhlesur went to his shop on Friday afternoon but did not return home. At around 10.00pm, locals found his burnt body covered with waste near his house and informed the police.
Dinajpur police recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Dulu Mia, father of the victim, said local goons had threatened his son because he refused to give them money.
Md Khalequzzaman, officer-in-charge of Dinajpur Police Station, said Dulu Mia identified his son's body.
In Joypurhat, family members said Tariqul Islam used to go home after closing his shop at 10.00pm every night, but he did not return home on Friday night.
Locals later found his body on the street at Sabujnagar village in Joypurhat town and informed the police. Police said criminals stabbed him to death.
Police recovered the body and set it to Joypurhat Modern hospital for autopsy.
Two separate murder cases were filed with the police stations concerned in Dinajpur and Joypurhat.
