Youth hacked to death

A youth was hacked to death on Cemetery Road in the city yesterday morning. The deceased was identified as Gouranga Biswas, 26, a resident of Muripotti area of the city. Police and locals said one Shukur called Gouranga over his cellphone and took him to a Christian graveyard in the area around 1:00am. An altercation ensued between them and at one stage, Shukur attacked Gouranga with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.
