After a long break from the big screen, actor Bapparaj has joined Mohammad Iqbal’s upcoming film “Gulshaner Chameli”.

Bapparaj was last seen on screen in the 2018 film “Poramon 2”. He did not appear in any other project for several years. Last year, he returned to acting with Mostofa Khan Shihan’s web series “Roktowrin” and Mehedi Hassan Hridoy’s film “Biday”. However, neither project has been released yet.

Mohammad Iqbal announced “Gulshaner Chameli” at a mahurat ceremony in early August. The film marks Tollywood actress Madhumita Sarcar’s debut in Dhallywood. It will also mark Amin Khan’s return to the big screen after a break. The cast also includes Rozina, Omar Sani, Azmeri Haque Badhan, among others.

The filmmaker has not revealed Bapparaj’s character in the film. Speaking about his casting, Iqbal said, “Bapparaj was selected based on the requirements of the screenplay and the character. We believe his experience and acting skills will further enrich the character. Bapparaj liked the story and the character. He has agreed to work on the film. We are also delighted to have an experienced actor like him on board.”

“Gulshaner Chameli” centres on the realities of the dark side of elite society. The film is being produced by Jahangir Shikdar under the banner of Axel Film Production. Abdullah Zahir Babu has written the screenplay.

According to Iqbal, shooting is scheduled to begin in December, if everything goes as planned. The film is expected to be released in theatres during one of next year’s Eid festivals.
