A new initiative titled “Cholo Ghure Ashi” has been launched to promote Bangladesh’s tourism industry, with plans to produce ten short films centred on travel-driven narratives. The project will feature emerging actors, selected under the guidance of filmmaker Animesh Aich and actors Naznin Hasan Chumki and Richi Solaiman.

Organised by Marketers 360 Degree, the ambitious project is divided into two segments. The first is a nationwide talent hunt titled “Face of Tomorrow”, aimed at discovering fresh faces. The second involves producing ten short films featuring those shortlisted talents, set against lesser-known yet promising travel destinations across the country.

Participants chosen through “Face of Tomorrow” will undergo a 20-day grooming bootcamp, where they will receive professional training in acting, camera performance, and related skills. Animesh, Naznin, and Richi will serve as both judges and mentors throughout the process.

Speaking about the initiative, Richi said, “It will be a significant achievement for us when we are able to discover 20 performers. We will be able to engage them in various forms of work within the industry.”

Naznin added that directors will select actors based on their respective scripts. “As judges, we will also read the scripts of these short films. This will help us determine the type of performers we need and make informed decisions during the selection process,” she said.

One of the films, titled “Mayanir”, is directed by Kochi Khandakar. “Through this film, I want to take audiences to Kushtia and introduce the younger generation to its notable personalities and cultural heritage,” he said.

The line-up of directors also includes Mahmuda Sultana Rima, Jahid Preetom, Preety Dutta, Alok Hasan, Maidul Rakib, Sraboni Ferdous, Muhammad Miftah Anaan, Iftekhar Ifti, and Rizwanul Islam Sanjid.

All ten short films are scheduled to premiere on World Tourism Day this year on Nagarik TV, followed by a digital release on the “Cholo Ghure Ashi” YouTube channel.

According to organisers, the project aims to highlight unexplored destinations in Bangladesh while fostering community participation and creating employment opportunities, contributing to the sustainable development of the country’s tourism sector. The initiative is supported by Time for Travel.

Registration for “Face of Tomorrow” is currently open and will continue until May 31.
