‘No Dorai’ director Taneem Rahman Angshu announces new film
Acclaimed filmmaker Taneem Rahman Angshu, who won the Best Director award at the National Film Awards for his 2019 feature “No Dorai”, has officially announced his next directorial venture, titled “Limbo”.
The announcement came through a Facebook post, where he shared the film’s first poster along with a cryptic message hinting at its themes.
“No matter how many light-years apart the distance may be, the pull of a familiar feeling never fades. At the boundary between emptiness and fulfilment, the stories of losing and finding become one. WELCOME TO LIMBO!” the post read.
While plot details remain under wraps, the poster suggests that “Limbo” is currently in the pre-production stage and is expected to release in 2027. The cast has not yet been revealed.

The director told The Daily Star, “It's a space drama and cosmic romance. It is going to be the first film of its kind in Bangladesh in terms of visual effects and story context. I am planning to shoot the film in three different countries. I expect to begin discussions with the prospective cast in August and plan to showcase the film on the festival circuit before its commercial release in Bangladesh.”
He also hinted that the cast will be among some of the popular artistes.
Taneem made his feature film debut with “No Dorai”, starring Sunerah Binte Kamal and Sariful Razz in the lead roles. The film earned widespread acclaim, with Sunerah winning the National Film Award for Best Actress.
Beyond cinema, Taneem has also built a strong reputation in the digital space. His Hoichoi original series “Buker Moddhye Agun” (2023), featuring Ziaul Faruq Apurba, Yash Rohan and Tama Mirza, received critical appreciation. He was also praised for the 2021 web project “Shahoshika”, starring Tanjin Tisha.
Most recently, his Eid release “Ochena Ami”, headlined by Apurba, drew attention among viewers, further cementing his position as one of the country’s most promising storytellers.
With “Limbo”, audiences are now eager to see what new cinematic journey Taneem Rahman Angshu has in store.
