Meghdol is set to perform alongside Indian band Chandrabindoo for the first time in a joint concert in Kolkata on September 5.

The announcement was made through Meghdol’s official social media pages, with a poster teasing the collaboration as “Megh meets the Moon”. The event is being organised by Talent Wall, with further details, including venue information, expected to be announced soon.

Speaking about the collaboration, Meghdol frontman Shibu Kumar Shil said the two bands share a similar musical sensibility and legacy rooted in Bengali music traditions. “Despite being from two different regions, we are connected through the same musical spirit. Chandrabindoo has been an inspiration since our student days, so sharing the stage with them is truly an honour,” he said.

He also hinted at additional concerts in West Bengal as part of the band’s upcoming tour, with announcements to follow on their social platforms.

Reflecting on previous performances in Kolkata, Shil noted that Meghdol enjoys strong popularity among audiences there. “We’ve always felt immense love from listeners in West Bengal. It’s a reminder that music transcends boundaries and breaks down barriers,” he added.

On the music front, the band has recorded a new track for “Roid”, an upcoming film by Meghdol member Mejbaur Rahman Sumon. The song is expected to be released in early next month.

Meghdol is also preparing to release the final three tracks—“Carnival”, “Bagh” and “Tare Kothay Khuje Pai”—from their third album “Aluminium er Dana”.

The band recently performed a solo concert at the Yamaha Flagship Centre in Dhaka on Pahela Baishakh and is planning a series of solo shows across Bangladesh, starting from Barishal and expanding to other divisional cities.
