Runa Laila to perform in Australia this August
Legendary singer Runa Laila is set to return to Australia for live performances after nearly a decade, alongside the Bengal Symphony led by Emon Chowdhury.
Two concerts are scheduled for August 1 and 8 in Sydney and Melbourne respectively. The Sydney show, titled “Bangladesh Night”, will take place at Norwest Convention Centre and is being organised by Listen For. Singer Pintu Ghosh is also set to perform at the event.
The Melbourne concert, titled “Runa Laila and Symphony Legacy Tour”, will be held at the Recital Centre on August 8 and is being organised by Australia Bangladesh Cultural Exchange Inc. Advance ticket sales for both events are already underway online.
Organisers described the concerts as more than just musical performances, calling them a memorable experience that will bring together timeless hits and orchestral arrangements for fans.
Runa Laila said she is looking forward to reconnecting with audiences in Australia. “It has been many years since I last performed there. These concerts are being arranged on a large scale, and I will be performing songs that audiences love,” she said, adding that ticket sales have already received a strong response.
Emon Chowdhury said the team is excited about the upcoming shows. “The concerts are being organised at excellent venues. We plan to perform popular tracks like ‘Kotha Koiyo Na’, ‘Baji’, ‘Shada Shada’ and ‘Teka Pakhi’,” he said.
The singer is expected to depart for Sydney on July 29 with a seven-member musical team.
