Afzal Hossain returns as ‘Chotokaku’ this Eid
Veteran actor Afzal Hossain is once again stepping into the beloved role of “Chotokaku” for a new Eid special instalment of the long-running television series.
Shooting for the latest drama in the series began in Dhaka on Wednesday. Titled “Kishoreganje Kishor Dol”, the production is being directed by Arif Khan and is based on a story adapted from a novel by Faridur Reza Sagar.
Alongside Afzal Hossain, the drama also stars Ahsan Habib Nasim, Tahmina Sultana Mou, Tanveer Hossain Probal, Upoma, Bishal, and others.
Speaking about the project, Afzal Hossain said the “Chotokaku” series has created a special connection with audiences over the years.“Viewers wait for the series every Eid and watch it with great interest,” he said.
The actor added that he has developed a deep attachment to the character after portraying it for such a long time. “I have been playing ‘Chotokaku’ for many years now, and I have grown emotionally connected to the role,” he said.
Regarding the new instalment, the actor said this year’s story will bring something fresh for viewers. “This time we are working with a new story. I hope audiences will enjoy it,” he added.
Meanwhile, Afzal Hossain recently completed shooting for another Eid telefilm titled “Zohora Begumer Ichchhepotro” (Zohra Begum’s Will), also directed by Arif Khan.
Beyond television, the actor is currently working in filmmaker Nuhash Humayun’s upcoming film “Moving Bangladesh”.
The “Chotokaku” series will air on Channel i during Eid-ul-Azha.
