Apurba and Niha reunite for Eid drama ‘Mayapakhi’

The popular on-screen duo Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Naznin Nahar Niha are set to star in the upcoming drama “Mayapakhi”. 

Written and directed by Jakaria Showkhin, the project marks another collaboration between the trio following the success of “Mon Duari” and “Meghbalika”, both of which were widely appreciated by audiences.

Scheduled for release this Eid-ul-Azha, “Mayapakhi” will premiere under the banner of CMV.

Director Jakaria Showkhin said, “This time, the story goes far beyond what audiences might expect. Viewers will be taken by surprise at every turn and will be deeply moved throughout the journey. By the end, no one will remain untouched — the story will completely capture their hearts.

“The drama centers on Maya, a very ordinary girl who resembles the heroines from Humayun Ahmed’s stories — braided hair, a tip on her forehead, and kohl-lined eyes. It is Maya’s simplicity and innocence that make Saadat fall in love with her. But gradually, the situation becomes more complicated. For those who regularly follow my dramas, this project will offer something entirely different.”

Ziaul Faruq Apurba said, “‘Mayapakhi’ is the kind of story that will touch everyone emotionally. By the end of the drama, every viewer’s heart will ache. The emotional spell it creates will stay with the audience for a long time.”
