Bidya Sinha Mim is returning to the big screen this Eid-ul-Azha with her much-anticipated film “Malik”. Known for several acclaimed performances throughout her career, the actress made her silver screen debut in Humayun Ahmed’s “Amar Ache Jol”. Among her most talked-about works remains “Poran”, which was also released during an Eid season.

After a brief hiatus from Eid releases, Bidya Sinha Mim is now preparing for the nationwide release of “Malik”. Recently speaking to The Daily Star, the actress shared her thoughts on the film, audience expectations, and her excitement surrounding the release.

The trailer and a song from “Malik” have already been released, both receiving strong responses online. Reflecting on the audience reaction, Bidya Sinha Mim said, “My fans are very happy. After a long time, they are getting a new film from me during Eid, and I’m happy about that too.”

Expressing confidence in the project, she described “Malik” as a complete commercial entertainer. “Audiences will get entertainment, action, and many enjoyable elements in the film. Overall, it is a film made for everyone,” she said.

Directed by Saif Chandan, “Malik” stars Arifin Shuvoo opposite Bidya Sinha Mim. The duo previously worked together in “Tarkata” and later in “Shapludu”, making this their third on-screen collaboration.

Speaking about her co-star, the actress said, “Shuvoo bhai is a very good co-artist. We have worked together before, and I hope audiences will enjoy seeing us together again.”

In the film, Bidya Sinha Mim portrays a character named Maya, whom she described as emotionally layered and different from her real-life personality. “Maya is very lively on screen, which is not like me in real life,” she explained. “At the same time, audiences will see another side of her as well.”

Describing the project further, she said “Malik” gave her the opportunity to explore a different style of performance. “It is a unique story-driven film. I worked through many challenges, and after a long time, audiences will see me in a different way,” she added.

Despite the crowded Eid release season, Bidya Sinha Mim maintained a positive attitude towards all competing films. “I hope all the films, including ‘Malik’, do well. Best wishes to everyone,” she said.

The actress also shared her eagerness to experience the film alongside audiences in theatres on Eid day. “I haven’t watched the film yet,” she said. “I want to watch it in a cinema hall with the audience on Eid day.”

Sharing her family’s response to the upcoming release, she added, “Everyone in my family is happy.”
