Zayed Khan, Zohran Mamdani earn praise for ‘Immigrant Diaries 2’
The second instalment of the widely discussed short film series “Immigrant Diaries”, titled “Eid Mubarak”, has officially been released, drawing praise for its portrayal of the struggles and realities of immigrant life.
Directed jointly by Jon Kabir and Saad Al Amin, the special episode features Dhallywood actor Zayed Khan in a central role, while New York State Assembly member Zohran Mamdani appears in a special role.
The short film revolves around the struggles, aspirations, and everyday realities faced by Bangladeshi immigrants trying to build their lives in New York.
Released on Tuesday (May 26), the latest episode has particularly drawn attention for the on-screen presence of both Zayed Khan and American politician Zohran Mamdani.
According to the filmmakers, the project is not merely a fictional narrative but a reflection of the everyday experiences familiar to immigrant Bangladeshis around the world.
Following the strong response to the first instalment released in March this year, the second episode has already generated significant discussion among Bangladeshi diaspora communities in New York and beyond.
“Immigrant Diaries 2: Eid Mubarak” has been released on the digital platform of “Thikana Bangladesh”.
