Folk fusion band Chirkutt became the '100th' passengers to pass through the biggest bridge in our country, the Padma Bridge.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially inaugurated the bridge on Saturday (June 25). The premier was the first person to cross the Padma Bridge by paying the toll at the Padma Multipurpose Bridge. The bridge was opened for traffic at around 6 am today.

Chirkutt became passengers in the early hours of the opening of the Padma Bridge, crossing it after paying the toll in the first hour. The band took several pictures posing on the bridge and shared them on their official Facebook page.

"While travelling from Khulna, we had the wonderful opportunity to travel across the Padma bridge on the first day. It took us 4 hours to come to Dhaka from Khulna. It took us a little longer because there was a traffic jam. Otherwise, it might have taken less time," the post read.

"We took permission from the authorities to take pictures at the bridge. We are sincerely grateful to them," the post concluded.

Chirkutt has recently organised a concert at Alliance Française to raise funds for the victims of the flood in Sylhet and Sunamganj. The band has also created history by performing alongside Scorpions at Madison Square Garden in New York on May 6.
