Alia Bhatt takes cinemas by storm with ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

Alia Bhatt's latest film, "Gangubai Kathiawadi", directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is soaring high at the box office. It was released on February 25, 2022.

The success of the film is also a win for Bollywood itself, which is attempting to return cinemas to glory after a two-year struggle with the pandemic.

In a week, "Gangubai Kathiawadi" managed to make Rs 68.93 crore, becoming the third highest-grossing first-weekend film during post-pandemic times in India. "Sooryavanshi" has the top spot in this regard with Rs 120.66 crore, while "83" earned Rs 71.87 crore.

On March 4, the official Instagram account of Bhansali Productions shared a poster of "Gangubai Kathiawadi", and said that the film has grossed Rs 108.3 crores worldwide.
