‘Ghor Ache Phera Nei’ to air on Channel i this Eid
A special programme titled “Ghor Ache Phera Nei” will air on Channel i on Eid day, highlighting the untold stories of people who cannot return home during the festival. It is conceptualised and hosted by Efatara Era.
The programme features six professions—rickshaw pullers, security guards, nurses, sanitation workers, news producers, and traffic police. Their Eid is spent on the streets, in hospitals, or within the confines of their workplaces due to professional responsibilities.
Through personal narratives, the show captures their emotional struggles, longing for family, and unwavering commitment to duty during one of the most important festivals in Bangladesh.
Speaking about the initiative, host Efatara Era said, “Every year, when I was travelling home for Eid, I used to think—while I am going, can everyone else go? And if everyone leaves, how will essential work continue? While speaking with participants from these six professions, I became quite emotional. At the same time, it was also a fulfilling experience. Everyone involved worked very hard, and I believe the audience will truly appreciate the programme.”
The programme will be broadcast on Eid day at 8 am, with a repeat telecast at 12 am.
