Some of Hollywood's biggest movie studios are delaying the releases of highly-anticipated films in Russia, in response to the country's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.

Warner Bros has paused the Russian release of "The Batman," which was scheduled for later this week, and is expected to be among the year's top-grossing movies. Russian theatre chains were heavily marketing the film.

About $200,000 worth of tickets to "The Batman" have already been sold in Russia, according to reports.

Walt Disney Co will also delay the release of films such as "Turning Red", "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness",  and "The Bob's Burgers Movie" in  Russian movie theatres.
