Trailer of ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ unveiled
The trailer of “Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge”, starring Ranveer Singh, was unveiled by the makers yesterday (March 7). Directed by Aditya Dhar, the action drama also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Sara Arjun in key roles.
The trailer opens with a provocative moment carried over from the first film, where a terrorist aboard a plane insults the Hindu community. R Madhavan’s character Ajay Sanyal witnesses the exchange before the narrative shifts to the power vacuum following the death of Rahman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna.
Amid uncertainty over who will control Lyari, Ranveer Singh’s Hamza steps forward, engaging in a series of intense action sequences. The trailer also offers glimpses of Hamza’s past life, revealing his original identity as Jaskiran Singh Rangi — a clean-shaven young man driven by anger and conflict.
Arjun Rampal appears briefly as Major Iqbal, vowing revenge against an Indian soldier, while Sanjay Dutt makes a quirky entry as SP Chaudhary Aslam, shooting a goon after cracking a joke. Meanwhile, Ajay Sanyal repeatedly utters three words — “Haunsla, Eendhan, Badla (courage, fuel, revenge)” — as the trailer builds toward its dramatic climax.
The trailer ends with Hamza lighting a cigarette amid the rubble as his voice declares, “Pakistan’s future will be decided now by India.”
According to the film’s logline, the sequel traces the chain of events that transforms Jaskirat Singh Rangi into Hamza Ali Mazari, following his rise while operating deep inside Pakistan.
The first instalment, Dhurandhar, released on December 5 and became a major box-office success, earning Rs 836 crore in India net collections, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film drew attention for its stylised action and high-energy soundtrack, though it also faced criticism for blending real-life events with fiction to promote an ultra-nationalist narrative.
