All rivers of the upper Meghna basin yesterday started flowing below the danger level at all points for the first time in 13 days in Sylhet and Sunamganj.
Following cyclone Ashani, the Surma and the Kushiyara, along with other rivers, started overflowing by May 13, leading to a flood.
The Surma was the last river flowing above the danger level. However, the river started flowing 10cm below the danger level at Sylhet's Kanaighat point yesterday.
