Fruit ripening guidelines

A report on the subject was published in the business page of a local English daily on 22nd January which, hopefully, may bring some benefits. However, given that bribery and corruption are rife in Bangladesh, the real end result may well be the increase in the prices of fruits while ripening by chemicals will just go on!

Policing, catching and prosecuting of 'food ripening persons' will add further to the expenses. There will also be more 'under the table' cash flow by these gangs, who will still be operating as before. At the end of the day, buyers will still be getting 'chemically ripened fruits', but at a higher price!
