2 Covid deaths, 72 fresh cases in 24 hours

At least 72 new infections were recorded and two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 0.89 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.13 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,122 and the mortality rate stands at 1.49 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,51,504, added the release.

A total of 8,073 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 876 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,80,420 and the recovery rate at 96.36 percent, added the release.

Of the deceased, one was a man and another a woman, added the release.
