5 deaths, 257 cases reported in 24 hours

At least 257 new infections were recorded and five people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 1.86 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.32 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,105 and the mortality rate stands at 1.49 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,49,055, added the release.

A total of 13,801 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 2,399 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,57,648 and the recovery rate at 95.31 percent, added the release.

All the deceased were men. Of them, one was between 21-30, one was between 31-40 and three were above 60 years old, added the release.
