Covid-19: 20 deaths, 5,023 cases reported in 24 hours
At least 5,023 new infections were recorded and 20 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 16.50 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.69 percent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,791 and the mortality rate stands at 1.51 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,04,826, added the release.
A total of 30,448 samples were tested across the country during this time.
At least 8,821 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 16,64,802 and the recovery rate at 87.40 percent, added the release.
Of the 20 deceased, 12 were male and eight were female.
Of them, one was between 21-30 years old, two between 31-40, one within 41-50, three between 51-60, four between 61-70, six within 71-80, two between 81-90 and one was between 91-100 years old, added the release.
