Covid-19 cases drop below 1,000 after 7 weeks

At least 759 new infections were recorded and eight people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 4.15 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.54 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,024 and the mortality rate stands at 1.49 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,41,816, added the release.

A total of 18,375 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 7,343 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,00,425 and the recovery rate at 92.72 percent, added the release.

Of the eight deceased, five were male and three were female.

Of them, one was between 31-40, two within 41-50, four were between 61-70, and one was between 81-90 years old, added the release.
