Covid-19 positivity rate down to 7.82%

21 deaths, 1,987 cases reported in 24 hours

At least 1987 new infections were recorded and 21 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 7.82 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.64 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,965 and the mortality rate stands at 1.50 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,33,291, added the release.

A total of 25,405 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 9,252 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 17,54,584 and the recovery rate at 90.76 percent, added the release.

Of the 21 deceased, 17 were male and rest were female.

Of them, one was between 21-30, one was between 31-40, one between 41-50, one between 51-60 and 17 were above 60 years old, added the release.
