Covid positivity rate down to 3.2%, 8 more die

At least 732 new infections were recorded and eight people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 3.22 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.46 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,053 and the mortality rate stands at 1.49 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,45,108, added the release.

A total of 22,716 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 4,824 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,26,949 and the recovery rate at 93.93 percent, added the release.

Of the eight deceased, three were male and five were female.

Of them, one was between 31-40, three were between 51-60, and four were above 60 years old, added the release.
