One Covid-19 death in 24 hours, positivity rate 2%

One person died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,056 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 275 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,82,985, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 2.01 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.92 percent.

A total of 13,699 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 224 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,47,180 and the recovery rate at 97.74 percent.

The deceased was a man, between 61-70 years old, added the release.
