One Covid-19 death recorded in 24 hours, current positivity rate 2.02%

One person died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,055 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 342 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,82,710, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 2.02 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.93 percent.

A total of 16,913 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 292 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,46,956 and the recovery rate at 97.74 percent.

The deceased was a woman, between 71-80 years old, added the release.
