Six Covid patients die in 24 hours

The health directorate reported six Covid-related deaths in the 24 hours till 8:00am yesterday. 

At least 1,324 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during this period, said a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) press release.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is 29,223 and the death rate stands at 1.47 percent.

The current positivity rate is 11.89 percent, down from 13.79 percent from the previous day.  The overall positivity rate stands at 13.77 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 19,93,382, according to the DGHS.

A total of 11,131 samples were tested across the country during the 24-hour period.

At least 1,747 patients have recovered from Covid-19 within this time.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,19,166 and the overall recovery rate is 96.28 percent.

Of the six deceased, four were male and two were female.

They were between 21-80 years old, added the release.
