Classy re-defined
Imagine a wardrobe crafted according to a motley of tastes consisting of George Clooney, Jake Gyllenhaal and a dash of Kanye West. That would be every fashionistas favourite dark and twisted fantasy; a promise of elegance with just the right amount of brashness. That, perhaps, best sums up what Zurhem has set out to become. The couture house is quickly becoming the talk of the town when it comes to being bespoken and outspoken at the same time and rightfully so.
Zurhem can be elegance redefined; a meaning adapted to the period of time. Sure, black still tops the colour scheme when it comes to custom suits, but Zurhem challenges you to be just that bit more daring. Bold and beautiful; Zurhem instils the belief that confidence is a stain you can't wipe off and presents a range of cuts, styles and colours that are sure to make an impression. Zurhem scours the globe for high quality materials. Their well-groomed fashion entrepreneur team consists of Saadat Chowdhury and Mehruz Munir who studied in Fashion Design Technology at the University of the Arts London. Zurhem's fame is word of mouth and not the result of a clever marketing campaign. It is what it says it is without trying too hard to be something it is not. If you want high quality suits and have your custom made wear compete with the Prada's and Versace's albeit being localised, then that is what Zurhem caters to.
Zurhem's founder and Creative Director, Mehruz Munir is constantly inspired by sportswear, modern minimalism and some of the most classic menswear key-pieces. The designs are done in a manner to appeal to almost everyone but especially for professionals over the age of 25. Speaking to Sadaat Chowhdury, we learnt about Zurhem's policies behind catering to a currently niche market. "Zurhem primarily target fashion enthusiasts who appreciate detail, design and supreme craftsmanship. From the very beginning we knew our target market is going to be small- consisting of people who are successful in their careers, who travel extensively and are passionate about clothes... And we are absolutely fine with serving such a small niche, who love fashion as much as we do!"
Zurhem's future plans involve international expansion in the coming years. With their pursuit of impeccable delivery in terms of both quality and craftsmanship, Zurhem promises to be a name to reckon with in the near future. The fashion statement though comes at a price; tailouring costs for suits range from 15,000 BDT to 18,000 BDT with the fabric cost considered separately. A complete suit will set one back around 45,000 BDT. But it's worth the cost. For all inquiries, please contact 01733597457. Zurhem is located on the 5ht floor, House 13/1, Road 12, Baridhara, Dhaka 1212.
