SM Sultan's anniversary of death observed

The 15th anniversary of death of eminent artist SM Sultan was observed in Narail yesterday. The district administration and local social-cultural organisations placed wreaths at the grave of the artist in the morning. Later, a prayer for the departed soul was held on the grave premises. A children's painting competition and a discussion meeting were held at the Shishu Swarga built by SM Sultan. Educationist Sharif Atiar Rahman presided over the discussion while deputy commissioner of Narail Mohammad Anwar Hussain was present as the chief quest. The SM Sultan Children's Fine Arts and Crafts Foundation arranged a river cruise for children in the river Chitra. It started from Sultan's residence and ended near Gobra Primary School. Over 300 children took part in the river cruise and painting competition.
