<i>Fisherman survives tiger attack</i>

A fisherman yesterday survived an attack by a tiger after a half an hour battle in the deep forest of the Sundarbans. Critically inured Shahidul Islam Kha, 35, son of Ishaque Ali Kha is now undergoing treatment at Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex. The victim received serious injury in head, chest, hands and back, doctors said. Family sources said, Shahidul went to the Arpangashia canal under Burigoalini Forest Range with three other fishermen for catching fish fry on Friday. Yesterday when they were fishing in the canal in Muragachhi area in the Sundarbans at about 10 am, a tiger all of a sudden swooped on them. Shahidul struggled with the tiger while his three fellow fishermen ran for safety.
