<i>Poison-mixed puffed rice served to grab land?</i>

Body of a person, who died 10 months ago after taking puffed rice mixed with poison allegedly served by enemies, was exhumed from his grave at Camp Para in Sadar upazila yesterday following a court order. On September 21, Judge AKM Shamsul Arefin of Satkhira Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court passed the order asking police to exhume victim's Abdullah's body from the grave for proper investigation into the case filed by the victim's brother. After exhuming the body in presence of an executive magistrate, police sent it to Satkhira hospital morgue for postmortem. Abdullah, and his mother Saburan Nesa of village Ghona in Sadar upazila died mysteriously after taking puffed rice on December 2 in 2008 and the two bodies were buried at Camp Para grave the following day. Abdullah's brother Abdullahel Kafi filed a case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court accusing the victim's first wife Masura Khatun, her second husband Firoj Ahmed and her son Tariqul Islam of the same village on August 18. The complainant alleged that his brother and mother died after taking fried rice mixed with poison that the accused served to kill them in a bid to grab their land. When contacted, Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Kamruzzaman confirmed the incident and said proper action would be taken against the culprits after investigation.
