26 upazila candidates sued

The government has filed cases against 26 candidates of Banshkhali, who contested the upazila elections and did not submit the election return in time. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Eashan Elahi recently filed the cases at Bashkhali police station against the upazila chairman and BNP leader Alamgir Kabir Chowdhury and vice-chairman and Awami League leader Moulvi Noor Hossain and 24 other defeated candidates in the upazila election at the instruction of the Election Commission. The candidates included 11 upazila chairman candidates, 10 vice-chairman candidates and five women vice chairman candidates.
